Version 2.0 of the Mavic 4 Pro guide is out. It is rebuilt on the same generator as the Mini 5 Pro, Mini 4 Pro and Air 3S guides — three renderings, the firmware and manual revision it was checked against printed on every page, and a card that says what DJI does not publish rather than guessing — and every figure in it was re-verified against DJI's Mavic 4 Pro User Manual v1.2 (September 2025), the spec page and the release notes through v01.00.0800. It is also, for the first time, available in A4 for pilots outside the US, and in German, Dutch and French.

Re-verified, line by line

Rebuilding the guide meant re-checking it, and we corrected what the re-check turned up: transmission range (O4+, 30 km FCC / 15 km CE), flight time (51 min maximum, 45 min hover), the dynamic range DJI actually states for each camera (15.5 / 14.5 / 13.5 stops, measured in D-Log), the gimbal's vertical-video behaviour (a 90° roll, not a crop), what the aircraft does when the control link drops and returns (it stays in RTH — manual §5.3), the QuickShot distances, internal storage on the standard aircraft versus the Creator Combo, DJI's own list of recommended memory cards, and the FAA registration and TRUST details. Anything DJI does not publish — Gain & Expo defaults, an APAS version number — is now marked as such instead of filled in.

The version note on the guide updates page records exactly which firmware, app build and manual revision every file was checked against. Existing buyers get v2.0 at no charge from their original download link, in every format below.

Three formats, like the other guides

US Letter, a half-letter kneeboard rendering, and a phone edition whose links are tappable rather than QR codes (you cannot scan a QR code with the phone displaying it). Same content, one price. Pro is now 34 pages and Essentials 17.

An international edition

Most RotorCards readers are outside the United States, and the Mavic 4 Pro is not even sold there. So v2.0 adds an international English edition: A4 and A5 paper sizes, metric first with imperial in brackets, and the FAA section replaced by a Rules by Country section — the EU/EASA Open category with the C2 label explained, then a card each for Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, each with its registration portal and airspace map as a QR code. Every rule on those cards was checked against the regulator's own page on 13 October 2026, and the cards say so.

Two of those rules are worth repeating here. In Germany the 100 m lateral distance in § 21h LuftVO applies to Bundesfernstraßen — Autobahnen and Bundesstraßen — not only motorways. And a C2 drone in the EU is never A1: it is A2 with the A2 certificate, or A3 without it. We wrote both up at length in the EU rules post, with the UK and Australia and Canada posts alongside.

German, Dutch and French

The same guide, translated by hand into Deutsch, Nederlands and Français. Three decisions shaped them:

  • DJI's own vocabulary. Each edition was checked term by term against DJI's localised Mavic 4 Pro manual, so the button, menu and mode names on the card are the ones on your screen: Netztaste, Pause-/Rückkehrtaste and Umleitung in German; Vliegpauze/RTH, Keuzeknop voor camerabediening and Omzeilen in Dutch; nacelle, Mise en pause du vol/RTH and Contournement in French.
  • Metric only. No mph, no feet, no °F. Speeds carry km/h where it helps. Feet survive only on the UK and Canada cards, whose law is written in feet.
  • A native review before release. Each edition went to an independent reviewer who read it against the English and against the DJI manual in that language, and the fixes went in before anything shipped — down to French typography (no-break spaces before colons, proper apostrophes).

Each language also gets its own page on the site and a translated version of the settings guide — the article most of you arrived here through — in German, Dutch and French, with the US-only rules swapped for that country's.

What is still not in the guide

A few things we could not verify and therefore did not print: whether the Mavic 4 Pro's built-in Remote ID satisfies the French signalement électronique requirement for aircraft over 800 g (we say "check in DJI Fly that the firmware enables it in France"); whether DJI Fly accepts the UK Operator ID format for Remote ID; and a handful of DJI Fly setting labels — grid lines, stick mode, live view quality — that do not appear in any of DJI's localised manuals, so the settings map carries a one-line note that app labels may differ by version rather than a guess.

One purchase, fifteen files

Essentials is $7.99 and Pro is $14.99, as before, and either one now unlocks the US, international, German, Dutch and French editions in all three renderings. There is no language-specific product and no separate price: the download page groups the files by language and you take the ones you will use. The Mavic 4 Pro page has the details.

Which drone do you fly?

RotorCards has a printable reference guide for each of these — every figure checked against DJI’s own manual, in three print sizes.
